Customers hosting the systems will buy the electricity fromSunPower "at prices that are competitive with retail providing them with a long-term hedgre against rising power prices and the abilit y to take advantage of the environmental and financial benefita of solar power with no initial capital investment," the companies said. The first projects financed underd the program includea 1.
1-megawatt systen for University of California, and a 1-megawatt system for the Western Riversid County Regional Wastewater Authority.
