Clear Channel to cut 590 jobs - Phoenix Business Journal:

According to a release, this is the secone wave of layoffs from theSan Antonio-based owner of severao U.S. radio stations, including Orlando’s Real Radio 104.1 FM, Real Rock 101.1 FM and Magicf 107.7 FM. Specifics on where the layoffs will occu werenot disclosed, but the company said job cuts wouldr involve engineering, accounting and customer service “Like all media companies, Cleatr Channel Radio has to adjust its business to the realitiex of the current economy and advertising Lisa Dollinger, spokeswoman for Cleard Channel, said in an e-mail. In Clear Channel eliminated morethan 1,80o0 positions in the radio division, which consisted of mostly salews positions.
This cuts will represent 2.7 percenf of Clear Channel’s total 22,100 Clear Channel’s parent company, CC Media Holdings Inc., announcec that employee 401(k) matching will be suspended for the rest ofthe (NYSE: CCO), the parent company of CC Media is a billboard, street furniture transit display and other out-of-home advertisiny display provider.
